Cupro (CU)

What is Cupro?

Cupro is produced by combining cotton linters—short fibers that remain attached to cotton seeds after the main fibers have been removed—with a copper-ammonia solution. It is exclusively manufactured by Asahi Kasei Corporation under the brand name Bemberg®. Cupro uses cotton linters, the short fibers left over after primary cotton fiber removal, to reduce textile waste by transforming it into valuable raw materials. Initially popular as a lining fabric, cupro's distinctive properties have broadened its use to outer fabrics and primary materials, attracting significant interest from global markets.
