What is Triacetate?

Triacetate is produced by dissolving acetate flakes, made from reacting wood pulp with acetic acid, in organic solvents. Triacetate refers to cellulose acetate, where over 92% of its hydroxyl groups have been acetylated. This unique fiber is manufactured exclusively by Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation under the brand name Soalon®. It is attracting significant interest in global markets.
