Cotton typewriter
Cotton typewriter is a type of plain-weave cotton fabric. There are various theories as to the origin of the name, such as ""used for typewriter printing ribbons"" and ""a cloth woven so densely that letters can be typed even when put through a typewriter.
Compared to the 30-50 thread count broadcloth used for blouses, which has 120-200 stitches per inch, a typical typewriter has 40-80 thread count and 240-300 stitches per inch. Therefore, cotton typewriter can be said to be a high-density plain weave using fine yarns.
The use of relatively fine cotton yarns with a high thread count makes the fabric taut and lightweight with a low transparency. Therefore, it is a highly versatile material that can be used for various items such as coats, dresses, skirts, and gaucho pants.
However, its high-density weave has the disadvantage that it wrinkles easily and is difficult to remove. Therefore, wrinkling and vintage processing are added to make it an attractive fabric, making the most of its disadvantages.
Stylem combines various raw materials such as polyester and nylon, not limited to 100% cotton, and combines them with various post-processing processes to develop a rich variety of fabrics.
